  • Description :

Supply Chain Management module covers all strategic and operational aspects that deal with the planning and the execution of the supply chain in contemporary enterprises and organizations. The module presents various strategic tools for the management of supply chains (e.g. demand forecasting, procurement, inventory and stock control) as well as for the monitoring of customer service level. The module drills down also to optimization techniques and quantitative methods that tackle complex problems in logistics operations (e.g. warehousing, transportation and packaging). The role of ICT and emerging technologies in supply chain management is also underlined coupled with green initiatives for sustainable logistics. The module covers the following thematic sections: Order management and customer service, Distribution channels, Procurement and purchasing, Storage and packaging, Inventory & stock control, Transport & delivery, Outsourcing (3PL/4PL), E-Logistics & ICT, Green logistics

By completing this module, each student will be able to:

    • Understand the fundamental principles in the management of supply chains with emphasis on planning and execution processes
    • Identify and apply the most suitable tools and techniques for the design and monitoring of the distribution channels
    • Understand the importance of outsourcing and how to select 3rd party logistics providers
    • Understand the basic principles for the procurement and warehousing of raw materials as well as the methodologies for stock control
    • Select the most suitable mean for transporting and delivering of goods
    • Evaluate and make use of emerging technologies for managing information flow in supply chain networks
